VBC at Africa Health ExCon 2026: A Landmark Showcase of Egypt’s Biomanufacturing Capabilities

As Africa Health ExCon 2026 draws to a close, مدينة اللقاحات والبيوتكنولوجى reflects on a distinguished participation that placed Egypt’s growing biomanufacturing capabilities at the center of regional and international dialogue. Held in Cairo under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the event saw VBC’s pavilion welcome a high-level array of national and international leaders, including:

  • H.E. Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly
  • H.E. Prof. Đuro Macut, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia
  • Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar
  • Dr. Hesham Stait, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management (UPA)
  • Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA)
  • Dr. Ahmed El-Sobki, Chairman of the Egyptian Healthcare Authority (EHA)

Throughout the three days, VBC’s pavilion served as a hub for continental and global engagement. The City welcomed delegations from leading international and African health organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO), Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, Africa CDC, and the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), as well as the Delegation of the European Union to Egypt. مدينة اللقاحات والبيوتكنولوجي, was equally honored to receive distinguished African regulators and diplomatic missions, among them the Rwanda Food and Drugs Authority and the ambassadors and representatives of Rwanda, Zambia, Burkina Faso, and Tanzania, alongside key Egyptian national bodies including VACSERA, the General Military Medical Council, and the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce. Across these meetings, discussions centered on technology transfer, local production, pooled procurement, and supply chain integration, as مدينة اللقاحات والبيوتكنولوجي, presented its progress to date, its expanding production capacities, and its integrated infrastructure for the manufacturing of both human and veterinary vaccines.

Established by presidential directive in 2021, مدينة اللقاحات والبيوتكنولوجي, reaffirmed its role as a national platform advancing Egypt’s self-sufficiency in vaccines and biologics. These efforts reinforce Egypt‘s standing as a regional hub for biotechnology and contribute to strengthening health security across the African continent, in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
