Prof. Dr. Khaled Abd El Ghaffar Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population (MOHP) discuss project updates with Prof. Dr. Magdy El-Sayed, CEO of Vaccines and Biotechnology City (VBC)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Abd El Ghaffar, held a meeting with Dr. Magdy El-Sayed, along with the accompanying delegation, to review the latest developments of the strategic project.<\/p>\n

According to Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry’s official spokesperson, discussions centered on:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Current implementation status and production capacity
\n– Technology transfer agreements with international partners
\n– Technical capabilities of the facility
\n– Partnerships with research institutions and national entities to ensure institutional integration and sustainability<\/p>\n

The minister highlighted several obstacles facing the localization of vaccine manufacturing:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Securing adequate funding
\n– Meeting global accreditation and quality requirements
\n– Facilitating technology transfer from international partners<\/p>\n

These efforts align with a presidential vision aimed at strengthening national health security and achieving self-sufficiency in the production of both human and veterinary vaccines.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson confirmed that VBC:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Has been granted the Golden License as a strategic project
\n– Features an environmentally friendly design built to the latest international standards
\n– Includes three factories for human vaccines, three for veterinary vaccines, and a central filling facility meeting the highest quality benchmarks<\/p>\n

Participants reviewed the full-cycle manufacturing stages from seeds to final filling and packaging along with achievements to date and the future work plan based on the “One Health” <\/strong>approach, which links human, animal, and environmental health.<\/p>\n

The meeting also examined the size of the vaccine market in Egypt<\/strong> and Africa<\/strong> and the position of current manufacturers, with emphasis on signing international cooperation agreements to transfer advanced technology.<\/p>\n

The minister directed the formation of a coordinating committee comprising all manufacturers and relevant entities to strengthen cooperation and robustly localize the industry.<\/p>\n
