Governor of Ismailia Follows Up on VBC Project

Major General Staff Sherif Fahmi Bishara, Governor of Ismailia, held an expanded meeting in the presence of Engineer Ahmed Essam, Deputy Governor of Ismailia, the General Secretary, and representatives of the sectors and entities concerned with the project. The meeting was convened to discuss the executive position of the facilities works that serve the Vaccines and Biotechnology City project in the Serapeum area.

During the meeting, the works scheduled to be implemented to extend a water network with a length of 18 km from the Al-Mustaqbal station and the industrial area to the city were reviewed, along with the conflicts related to other facilities, irrigation, and future road works. The works scheduled in the sectors of electricity, gas, communications, and road services were also addressed. Full coordination between all sectors, authorities, and the National Service Projects Agency was emphasized to identify obstacles and resolve them promptly.

The Governor of Ismailia pointed out the importance of taking into account future expansion needs during the implementation of services, while stressing adherence to the start and completion timings of the annexation works.

He further stressed the strategic and investment importance of this vital project, which has the full support of the state, to establish and operate the “Vaccine and Biotechnology City” project. The city will manufacture, fill, and package human and veterinary vaccines of all kinds, as well as biological products, diagnostics, biotechnology solutions, and their supplies. The total investment cost amounts to about 3.8 billion EGP and the project will provide job opportunities for 325 employees.

The Governor added that Ismailia Governorate is characterized by a strategically attractive location for many qualitative and important projects, especially in the medical field.

The Official Gazette had published the decision of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, to grant the golden license to eight investment projects that applied to the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, including the Vaccine and Biotechnology City at the intersection of Ismailia Road with Serapeum.
